I recently had a new delivery of natural treats for the dogs. It included dehydrated porky snouts, puffed porky snouts and dehydrated rabbit ears with the fur still on.
The dogs love their treats! Hank’s intolerances do limit the variety that I can purchase but I do still like to ensure they are having something natural. I used to buy buffalo ears, beef head skins and moon bones as they seemed to last the longest with Hank. Sadly, those are a thing of the past for all of our dogs now as I don’t want to risk Hank having an upset stomach again.
I gave each of the dogs a porky snout the other day. As usual, Molly and Hank got stuck right in and started crunching away on theirs. Poppet on the other hand wasn’t really sure what to do with hers. The problem was that we were in the office and she didn’t have a bed to take her treat to. Poppet likes to eat all of her treats in peace on the dog bed in our lounge. She sat there for a little while drooling with the porky snout in her mouth!
After a while, she clearly figured she wasn’t going to be leaving the room and started crunching away. Both Molly and Hank had pretty much finished theirs by the time Poppet started! The other two always end up waiting for Poppet to finish.
Admittedly this type of treat does not last very long but it’s something tasty for them and does their teeth good. They will soon also get to try the puffed porky snouts but have been having the furry rabbit ears for a long time now.
